On October 4, 2025, Happy To Help (HTH Inc.) Founder received the 2025 Joel P. Hudson Humanitarian Award from Rainbow Village, recognizing her and HTH Inc.’s commitment to community service and social impact
The award reflects not only individual leadership but also the collective efforts of the volunteers, mentors, and supporters who have contributed to HTH’s continued growth and impact.
Our History
HTH (Happy to Help) began in 2020 with a simple idea: bringing young people and families together to help those in need.
Our first community service efforts supported local organizations, including Rainbow Village and Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, by providing supplies for children and families. What started as a small group effort soon grew into virtual charity performances, in-person fundraising events, community service projects, and cultural celebrations.
Over the years, HTH has continued to create opportunities for young people to serve, lead, and make a meaningful difference. Through hands-on volunteering, youth-led projects, charitable fundraising, and community events, students are encouraged not only to give their time, but also to develop responsibility, compassion, leadership, and a lifelong commitment to service.
Today, HTH continues to grow while staying true to the same belief that inspired us in 2020: when young people are given meaningful opportunities to help others, even small acts of service can grow into lasting impact.

Our mission is to create opportunities for youth to serve, lead, connect with their communities, and grow through real-world experiences. By encouraging compassion, responsibility, and leadership from an early age, we hope to inspire a lifelong commitment to giving back.
Meet Our Founder
Maxine Acosta — Founder
Her journey in community service began in 2020 at age 13, when she started bringing young people and families together to help those in need. What began as small community service efforts gradually grew through volunteer projects, charitable fundraising, and youth participation, eventually leading to the founding of HTH (Happy to Help) in 2022.
Her journey with HTH(Happy to Help) has continued alongside her own education, from the University of Georgia to Babson College. Today, she remains committed to creating meaningful opportunities for young people to serve, lead, and grow—believing that even small acts of service can develop into a lifelong commitment to making a difference.
Our Team
Vicki Lu – Co-Director
Vicki Lu is a doctoral candidate at The University of Georgia, studying Ethnomusicology with an emphasis in Chinese music and performance. She is also the Director of Spring Music School. Vicki is passionate about philanthropy, using her work as a performer and educator to share Chinese musical arts and collaborate with organizations like Happy To Help (HTH), alongside her student and co-director Maxine Acosta, to support communities in the Metro Atlanta area.
Hannah Xu – Director of Fundraising
Hannah Xu is passionate about giving back to her community and helping others whenever she can. Over the years, she has supported HTH Inc. (Happy To Help) by helping find vendors, organize events, and contribute to the organization’s mission through donations. Hannah joined HTH because she values service, community involvement, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a caring organization and looks forward to continuing to help bring people together and support those in need.
Tommy Weng – Project Manager, Westminster Upper Schools Representative
Tommy Weng is a junior at The Westminster Schools with a strong interest in organizational leadership and technology. Through his involvement with Happy To Help (HTH), he aims to gain experience in personnel management, logistics, coordination, and event planning. Tommy leverages his curiosity in technological and scientific topics to help optimize event operations, increasing efficiency and productivity while minimizing resource use. In his spare time, he enjoys aviation photography, engineering projects, and exploring Wikipedia rabbit holes.
Jasmine Owen – Project Manager
Jasmine Owen is a senior at North Gwinnett High School. She began her involvement at Happy To Help (HTH) in 2020, initially donating supplies to local shelters, and has continued volunteering and performing at annual HAGS events. Through her participation in the Dragon Team, Jasmine has developed leadership and collaboration skills, which she applies to introducing new initiatives to expand HTH’s impact in the community. Outside of HTH, she is a member of the versity tennis team and a violist in the NGHS orchestra.
Jerry Zheng – Project Manager
Jerry Zheng is a junior at Mountain View High School with a variety of interests, including reading, computer work, and practicing Chinese yo-yo. He joined Happy To Help (HTH) during his freshman year to fulfill community service hours and quickly discovered a passion for helping and entertaining others. Through volunteering with the Dragon Team, Jerry has developed teamwork and leadership skills while contributing to performances and activities that bring joy to the community.
Adam Yu – Project Manager
Adam Yu is a rising senior at Woodward Academy. He joined HTH Inc. (Happy To Help) to give back to the Metro Atlanta community and support meaningful causes. Inspired by HTH’s mission, Adam enjoys using his enthusiasm and teamwork skills to help organize events and bring smiles to others. He values the opportunity to make a positive impact through service and looks forward to continuing to support his community alongside fellow volunteers.
